Brandon Nimmo Powers Mets To Victory Over Phillies

Brandon Nimmo Powers Mets to Victory Over Phillies

Nimmo's Home Run Highlights Mets' Offensive Outburst

Brandon Nimmo's two-run homer in the first inning set the tone for the New York Mets' 6-2 victory over the Philadelphia Phillies on Tuesday night. Nimmo's blast gave the Mets an early lead, and they never looked back, cruising to their fourth win in their last five games.

Mets Bats Come Alive

The Mets' offense has struggled at times this season, but they came alive against the Phillies. Nimmo's homer was just one of four long balls hit by the Mets on the night. Jeff McNeil, Francisco Lindor, and Mark Canha also went deep, helping the Mets build a 6-0 lead by the fifth inning.

The Phillies managed to get on the board with a two-run homer by Kyle Schwarber in the sixth inning, but it was too little, too late. The Mets' bullpen held the Phillies scoreless over the final three innings to secure the victory.

Nimmo Continues to Impress

Nimmo has been one of the Mets' most consistent hitters all season. The 29-year-old is now batting .307 with nine home runs and 31 RBIs. His home run on Tuesday was his second in as many games, and it helped the Mets extend their lead in the NL East to 2.5 games over the Atlanta Braves.

The Mets will look to continue their winning ways on Wednesday when they face the Phillies again at Citi Field. Taijuan Walker will start for the Mets, while Matt Strahm will take the mound for the Phillies.
