Coronation Street’s Peter Barlow to Make shock return
Coronation Street has confirmed Peter Barlow will make a shock return to Weatherfield later this year. The character, played by actor Chris Gascoyne, last appeared on the cobbles in 2020.
The Sun newspaper reports that Peter will be back on our screens in the autumn and will be involved in a huge storyline. A source told the publication: "Peter is going to be back with a bang. He's going to be involved in a huge storyline that will have viewers on the edge of their seats.
Peter left Coronation Street in 2020 after struggling with alcoholism and gambling addiction. He checked into rehab and has been living away from Weatherfield ever since. However, it seems like he is now ready to return home and face his demons.
Chris Gascoyne has played the role of Peter Barlow since 2000. He has been involved in some of the soap's most iconic storylines, including his affair with Carla Connor and his battle with alcoholism. Peter is a fan favourite and his return to the cobbles is sure to be welcomed by viewers.
It is not yet known what will bring Peter back to Weatherfield, but it is sure to be something dramatic. The character has always been a troublemaker and it is likely that he will be up to his old tricks again. However, it is also possible that he has changed his ways and is ready to make a fresh start.
Whatever the reason for his return, Peter Barlow is sure to be a welcome addition to Coronation Street. He is a complex and interesting character and his return is sure to bring plenty of drama to the cobbles.
